As a professional scrapbooker I have lots of choices to make when I begin a custom scrapbook or page layout. For Bathtime Fun I decided to use black as the background and bright colors to embellish the page.
Black backgrounds are one of the ways I make bright colors stand out. Colorcombosgalore.com’s challenge 132 for this color combination of licorice (black), banana yellow, raspberry , and pina colada (white-ish) inspired me. These challenges are alot like working with a client as a professional scrapbooker. I like my customers to give me feedback on the colors they enjoy so I can work those colors into their scrapbook design. Black doesn’t always come to mind when I talk to my clients. In fact, my ten-year-old daughter insists that black is not a color. I beg to differ. Rich and complex, it can be that perfect backdrop for a professional scrapbooker. Like old-fashioned photo albums, black can make your custom scrapbook page shine. Bath Fun may just give you some ideas.
